Will Insurance Pay For
My Treatment?

If you are experiencing symptoms of vein disease that is interfering with activities of daily living, your vein treatment will be covered by most insurance plans because it is considered a medical necessity.

Most insurance companies will require a pre-authorization for vein procedures and in most cases, require a period of trial conservative therapy for 1 to 3 months.

This conservative treatment often includes the use of medical grade compression stockings, periodic leg elevations, avoidance of prolonged standing or sitting and documentation of anti-inflammatory pain medications. This period may be eliminated if compression stockings have been worn previously.

If you are a cash paying patient or choose not to use insurance benefits, the period of conservative treatment is not necessary, and you can begin treatment at any time.

Once the requirements for medical necessity and the conservative treatments have been met, our in-house insurance specialist will submit all the documentation to your insurance company to obtain authorization for the vein treatment procedures.

If the concerns about your legs are cosmetic and you are not experiencing any symptoms, insurance companies will not cover your treatment. Spider veins and reticular veins are considered cosmetic procedures and, in most cases, will not be covered under any insurance plans.
