June 2013: New York City: The New York Vein Treatment Center has launched a new educational health campaign for Men’s Health Month, providing useful tips to help men stay as healthy as possible. The Manhattan vein center is publishing a new article outlining some of the health risks men face, including risks involving the vascular system, and is also providing educational information on social media.

“A man’s body depends on a healthy vascular system in order to function optimally,” explains Dr. Lev Khitin, a leading vein doctor at New York Vein Treatment Center. “Quitting smoking, exercising regularly and maintaining a physiological body weight contribute to maintaining of healthy circulation.”

All men are encouraged to take their vascular health seriously. Dr. Khitin warns that ignoring the signs of vein disease like varicose veins can lead to serious complications, including ulcers and blood clots.

Patients looking for more information on vascular health or seeking treatment for varicose veins can turn to New York Vein Treatment Center for prophylaxis, diagnosis, treatment and education. The center is providing more information on men’s health on their Facebook and Twitter pages throughout the month of June.

Varicose Vein Treatment Options

Varicose veins and spider veins are extremely common in men and women. While spider veins are very small, reddish veins on the surface of the skin, varicose veins are much larger, bulging, tangled veins that may appear bluish in color. Men and women suffer from varicose veins, although women are much more likely to have them.

Today, patients have access to a number of effective varicose vein treatment options. Advancements in technology and medicine have led to the development of safe, effective, minimally invasive treatment modalities that provide excellent, most importantly permanent results with no side-effects or downtime. Some of these modalities are foam- sclerotherapy and cryo-sclero, radio-frequency ablation, micro-phlebectomy, endovenous LASER obliteration and many others.
