According to the Manhattan-based vein center, leg pain and swelling are common symptoms of vein diseases, including chronic venous insufficiency and deep vein thrombosis. The center hopes to equip the public with the information they need to prevent and treat leg discomfort.
Dr. Lev Khitin, a leading vein doctor at the New York Vein Treatment Center, explains that there are steps that people can take to address leg pain at home. “A consultation with a vein care specialist will determine strategies for in-home leg pain treatment. In some cases, self-treatment may not be enough and professional help is required.”
