Ligation and Stripping

SVI;-L&S;-Final

The term "ligation and stripping" stands for an open surgical procedure performed to treat superficial venous insufficiency. During this operation, the diseased vein is not being cut out under direct vision with one large incision, but rather is being pulled out through several small incisions after being tied (ligated) at the source. Often, unfortunately, due to a relatively blind approach with this technique, the entire vein is not removed, which eventually leads to a recurrence of the disease.

New York Vein Treatment center provides this and other treatment options. Only careful examination and diagnosis of your condition will allow to determine which treatment option is right for you. We helped thousands of patients in the New York area. Call or contact us to schedule your consultation. Results may vary.
